Where to stay in Northwest Georgia

Find a base that fits your tasting route, group and weekend pace.

Northwest Georgia is a large travel area. This weekend stays around Cartersville, White and Acworth; Rome, Dalton and Ringgold deserve separate routes.

Barnsley Resort

A 3,000-acre resort with a 55-room inn and cottages ranging from one to seven bedrooms, plus golf, spa, lake and outdoor activities. The photograph is the Inn exterior, not a cottage or a promise of the unit available to book. Selected accommodations are pet-friendly and carry separate policies and fees; dining, activities and lodging availability require their own reservations. Two current official policy pages disagree on whether check-in begins at 3 or 4 pm, so confirm the booked accommodation's arrival time directly.

Red Top Mountain State Park Cottages

Twenty state-park cottages on Lake Allatoona, with hiking, fishing, boat access and a separate campground and yurt inventory. The park is listed as open year-round, but book the exact cottage through Georgia State Parks and recheck seasonal facility notices. Most advance cottage reservations require two nights; standard cottage check-in is 4–10 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m. A ParkPass is separate from the lodging reservation. The retained photograph is an official Red Top Mountain cabin image rather than evidence of the layout, accessibility or availability of every cottage.
