Stay near Toccoa and have dinner downtown. On Harvest Festival weekend, plan around the street layout and parking before bringing luggage into the center.
Start with the season
Visit the Currahee Military Museum in the historic depot, or give the morning to the Harvest Festival if your dates match. Have lunch, then take an unhurried Currahee Vineyards visit.
Wine is always in the plan
After lunch, make Currahee Vineyards the anchor of your tasting day. A single winery visit leaves time for the town and its history. Read the wine selections and visitor policies before reserving. This route works across the year when the venues are open; confirm the current schedule, arrange a sober driver and keep dinner unhurried.
One more local experience
Walk through downtown Toccoa and explore the local shops that are open. If you want the Elberton lake country, make that a separate base rather than a departure-day dash.
Keep the route comfortable
This itinerary uses Toccoa and one unhurried winery visit. Danielsville and Elberton are a different eastern loop; choose that base for Boutier or Blue Cielo instead.

The Northeast Foothills cover Toccoa, Danielsville and Elberton. This is deliberately a Toccoa weekend; one good winery visit leaves room for the history and festival that brought you here.
