Start with the season
On a Lithia Springs–side route, hike Sweetwater Creek’s Red Trail in the morning. Turn around at the mill exterior or continue over the harder rocky section to the falls, then eat before driving toward a West Georgia winery.
Wine is always in the plan
After lunch, make Little Vine Vineyards and Winery the anchor of your tasting day. Add The Vineyard at Hominy Creek if the opening hours, journey and your group’s pace fit comfortably. Read the wine selections and visitor policies before reserving. This route works across the year when the venues are open; confirm the current schedule, arrange a sober driver and keep dinner unhurried.
One more local experience
Choose a booked Historic Banning Mills adventure if it suits your group and departure time. Complete it before any additional wine; otherwise keep Sunday to breakfast and art.

Keep this a distinct West Georgia trip. Choose Carrollton or Villa Rica and map the winery hours; Dallas and Bremen are alternative branches, not required detours.
Fall planning notes
The Red Trail is 1 mile one way and rated easy to difficult; the final half-mile to the falls is significantly more strenuous. The mill interior is limited to guided access, so self-guided visitors stay outside. Carrollton’s Small Packages exhibition now runs November 2–December 14, 2026; Drug Addiction: Real People, Real Stories — Georgia runs November 5–December 14. Both list November 5 receptions, 5–7 p.m. Check normal gallery hours for other days rather than treating exhibition spans as continuous opening.
If the weather changes
Visit the Center for the Arts, have lunch and choose indoor winery space. Move the hike only after checking the park’s weather and access notices.
