Hike Sweetwater Creek’s Red Trail early, before the heat. Turn around at the mill if the group does not want the strenuous rocky half-mile to the falls; finish, hydrate and eat before wine, and leave the second winery optional.
Wine is always in the plan
After lunch, make Little Vine Vineyards and Winery the anchor of your tasting day. Add The Vineyard at Hominy Creek if the opening hours, journey and your group’s pace fit comfortably. Read the wine selections and visitor policies before reserving. This route works across the year when the venues are open; confirm the current schedule, arrange a sober driver and keep dinner unhurried.
One more local experience
Enjoy your lodging, breakfast and a short town visit. If you want an activity at Banning Mills, book it as a main outing rather than a quick stop on the drive home.
Keep the route comfortable
Keep this a distinct West Georgia trip. Choose Carrollton or Villa Rica and map the winery hours; Dallas and Bremen are alternative branches, not required detours.
Summer planning notes
West Georgia afternoons can be hot and stormy. Check park notices, carry water and do not enter the mill ruins on an ordinary self-guided hike.

Choose the Center for the Arts, a long lunch and indoor wine experiences. Do not move the trail to after tastings.
